A market with a difference
What a great evening!
Thank you to every one who came - and weren’t we lucky with the weather. Thanks too to the many, many volunteers who helped make the evening such a success - we couldn’t do it without you!
Dream it . . .
This is our third candlelit market and we hope it will be the best yet! Enjoy live music by local artistes - sip mulled apple juice from villagers’ trees and mulled wine - feast on freshly-cooked delights from Lewis and Karen, our chefs - take part in our free Christmas craft activities - admire the owls that are visiting for the event - gaze at the lighting done by the company that does the lighting for big TV shows - and, of course, stock up on presents for your loved ones (and you) from over 40 artisan stallholders showcasing goods that you can’t buy on the high street. And you can even get them gift wrapped for free, re-using paper/material/ribbon and string, courtesy of the group Eco-Friends!
Grow it . . .
Increasingly, we are having to turn away hopeful applications for stalls - the event is known to be atmospheric and great fun!
And give thanks . . .
We couldn’t host this event without the support of an anonymous donor sponsoring the lighting company (you know who you are!), the Betts family who own the courtyards, and the support of local villagers. Thank you!
Other points . . .
Dogs on lead are welcome.
This is a community event so there are no entry or parking fees.
There is something for everyone, young and old(er).
There are no street lights in Hampstead Norreys so please bring a torch and take care on the roads!
The shop stalls
This year, following popular request, we are running a pocket money stall for kiddies. We’ve searched high and low to find things for as little as 50p - not an easy task but we’ve done it!
And we are also running a gift stall with unusual and interesting goods for all the family. Throughout the year we keep a beady eye out for bargains which are passed on to you—many of our gifts are well below the recommended retail price and below that of Amazon. Who says you can’t get bargains at your local shop? Beware though, stocks are limited.
Examples:
Frozen Bubbles Kit, price on Amazon £24.99, our price only £18.45
Build a Dragon Game, price on Amazon £11.49, our price only £7.95
Mediterranean Cheese Making Kit, RRP (out of stock on Amazon £26.50), our price only £18.50
And you can get your gifts from us, or any stallholder, gift wrapped for free them gift wrapped for free, courtesy of the group Eco-Friends, who will be re-using paper/material/ribbon and string!
